The Zenodo DOI Resolution Index is the Crimson Hexagonal Archive’s citation-repair and continuity dataset. It maps legacy Zenodo DOI identifiers to recovered titles, current public locations, and Alexanarch records so that references to removed or degraded repository objects can be redirected without silently replacing the original identifier.
Version 3.11.0 contains 1,938 unique DOI entries. Of these, 1,830 resolve to Alexanarch records, 52 to repository-hosted files, 35 to authorial blog sources, and 21 currently lack a live target. Unresolved and title-only cases remain visibly classified rather than being assigned speculative equivalents.
The index was assembled through successive evidence passes using DataCite and OpenAlex traces, historical DOI registries, repository and website inventories, title comparison, and authorial conversation provenance. Match status distinguishes direct verification from weaker forms of recovery, allowing later correction as additional evidence becomes available.
The dataset also records two mechanisms of attribution severance. Metadata stripping occurs when an identifier remains findable while creator information is altered or removed. Heteronymic invisibility occurs when works credited to archive personae cannot be recovered through a search for the founder’s primary public name. The index therefore functions both as a resolver and as an empirical record of how persistent identifiers can survive while attribution and access fail.
