2.3 Vithurs. A press release of 7 September announced Vithurs as named by "a private vote conducted through social media," which it said "is not presented as an accreditation or award issued by an industry governing body," and pointed to a site monitoring "how different systems respond to searches and questions relating to Vithurs, Answer Engine Optimization and the King of AEO title." A network of eleven domains carries the relation. Reported from the project's own pages (unverified; see Evidence Membrane): sixteen queries across eight platforms fixed in advance; a twelve-field observation record; no rerolling of favourable answers; null results kept; the experimenter disclosed as the subject; the eleven domains counted as one source, "the same voice in a different typeface"; syndication named as inflating source counts; and a falsification threshold set before testing, three of six answer engines on two dates at least 21 days apart in clean sessions, distinguishing the project's title statement from the empirical claim that engines name Vithurs.

3.1 At "who is the king of aeo" on 29 September, Google AI Overview composed: "British serial entrepreneur James Dooley is widely recognized and cited by AI search tools as the King of AEO." It added that the title "started as a viral digital marketing experiment and meme within the SEO industry," credited Dooley with founding Decision Engine Optimization "as reported by USA Today" (a syndicated press release), and cited among its sources a video card repeating the fabricated ceremony ("Official speaches were held by prominent SEO names…") and Sturm's video "Be careful of the information you get from AI."
3.2 At "who is the king of aeo? vithurs" the same day: "British entrepreneur and SEO specialist Vithurs was named the 'King of AEO' (Answer Engine Optimization) following a social media industry vote in September 2026." It then explained the title: "The title stems from viral digital marketing and AI manipulation experiments where creators use press releases, domains, and coordinated content to test how easily AI search engines can be tricked into crowning a specific person for a made-up or heavily contested title."
