Es dokumentiert 204 Disse...VroniPlag Wiki is a wiki started 28 March 2011 at Wikia that examines and documents the extent of plagiarism in German doctoral theses, in English Wikipedia's lead, and a documentation wiki of the lineage "authorship and reuse" in the provenance census record, which names what it attaches provenance to: a passage of a doctoral thesis and the source it reproduces without attribution. Its home page on Fandom, in the card's snippet, calls it "eine Plattform zur Dokumentation von Plagiaten in Hochschulschriften"; German Wikipedia gives it as a wiki founded on 28 March 2011 on the Wikia wiki farm where academic writings, mainly dissertations, that have come under suspicion of plagiarism are examined, and English Wikipedia's short description as a "Platform for documenting plagiarism in academic publications". In the census record the relations it carries are unattributed reuse (the plagiarism fragment) and the source text, and its unit is a thesis, documented as fragments.
It is named after the first thesis documented in it, the thesis of Veronica Saß, daughter of the German politician Edmund Stoiber, "Vroni" being a German nickname for "Veronica" (English Wikipedia); German Wikipedia: "Das VroniPlag Wiki ist nach Edmund Stoibers Tochter Veronica Saß benannt, deren Dissertation als erste untersucht wurde." It grew from the GuttenPlag Wiki: after the revocation of Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg's doctorate it adopted that wiki's idea (English Wikipedia), it arose from that wiki's circle ("entstand aus dem Umfeld des GuttenPlag Wikis", German Wikipedia), and the census record holds the two apart: "NOT GuttenPlag Wiki, from which it grew". On its founding German Wikipedia speaks twice: its infobox names Martin Heidingsfelder as founder, which the census record's operator field reports beside "a volunteer wiki on Fandom (formerly Wikia)", with the infobox line as its evidence; its body reports that the wiki was started on 28 March 2011 at 12:12, by Heidingsfelder's own account under the pseudonym "Goalgetter", with many GuttenPlag volunteers active in it thereafter, and that the project rejects the sole founding he claims for himself ("lehnt das Projekt eine von Heidingsfelder für sich selbst reklamierte Einzelgründung ab").
English Wikipedia's infobox gives it as launched March 28, 2011, owned by Fandom, Inc., in German and English, non-commercial, with optional registration, active, and licensed Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported; the census record carries the founding date, the address vroniplag.fandom.com/de, the state "active" and the licence "CC BY-SA 3.0 (English Wikipedia's infobox)", and lists "the current licence on Fandom" as unchecked. The census record keeps its record apart from the entity: each field's evidence is a third-party account, because the wiki returned 403 to a plain fetch on 2026-10-29 and its own figures were not read, its case list and statistics listed as unchecked; it gives the capability as records and tests, under a schema in which an untested capability reads "not tested", and asks of every entity "What provenance does this system carry, through which operation, on whose assertion, with what evidence of survival?"
Its method, in its own report of 19 April 2011 as German Wikipedia quotes it: users first document suspected plagiarism, which can be done anonymously as in Wikipedia; after verification the affected passages are divided into fragments that allow direct comparison with the originals; and a further plausibility check by the "Vier-Augen-Prinzip" precedes the visualization of the results in the "Barcode". In English Wikipedia the publication of a thesis consists of an overview with a "bar code" visualizing the amount of plagiarism, the thesis's bibliographic information and a page overview linking to the fragments found on each page, and "Each fragment is classified as to the kind of plagiarism and must be verified by a second person before it is acceptable", the sentence the census record quotes as its evidence for the carrier it names: "text-parallel documentation: page-by-page fragments, each classified and checked by a second person". The measure is the page: German Wikipedia says the wiki gives the pages with plagiarism findings as a percentage of a work's text pages, the census record names as what survives "the share of a thesis's pages found to contain plagiarism, per thesis", and English Wikipedia's table of the dissertations openly published on the wiki gives such shares, Veronica Saß's 53.98% on May 25, 2011 among them, with her doctorate rescinded at Konstanz.
At the class the archive places plagiarism detection beside its own measure: in #725 (2026-05-08) plagiarism detection is one of the adjacent measurement traditions that the Provenance Erasure Rate is related to but distinct from, an "Adjacent integrity tool" asking "Whether text overlaps with existing corpora", under the rule "Detects copy; PER detects lineage erasure regardless of paraphrase", and a desired composition acknowledges the distinction from plagiarism detection. In #729 (2026-05-12) plagiarism checking "Compares text to corpus. Provenance specifies lineage before comparison."; the census record's object for this wiki is the passage together with the source it reproduces without attribution (provenance census record).
It publishes text-parallel documentation openly, with the authors' names, only on theses found to contain serious plagiarism, and before publication the office of academic integrity at the university in question is formally notified, as any revocation of title must be done by the university (English Wikipedia, the policy sentence the census record quotes as its evidence); the census record carries both as a negative tag: it "publishes a case only where serious plagiarism was found, after notifying the university". Its programme in its press release of 5 April 2011, as German Wikipedia quotes it, was to examine further well-founded tips and document them publicly and transparently "Ungeachtet der parteipolitischen Ausrichtung, des Promotionsfachs oder der Universität des Promovierten"; its overview page, in the card's snippet, says: "VroniPlag Wiki ist ein wissenschaftliches Projekt ohne politische oder kommerzielle Interessen und unabhängig von der Marke VRONIPLAG."
Its counts stand at their dates: 152 dissertations, 8 habilitations, 1 master's thesis and 1 book on scientific writing examined in detail as of February 2016 (English Wikipedia); 201 dissertations and 13 habilitation theses named by 3 April 2023 (German Wikipedia), the count the census record carries with its date and its wikitext; and, on the wiki's own overview page as the card truncates it, "Es dokumentiert 204 Disse…", which the Capture Registry reads as the wiki's own page and a later count than the record's (2026-10-29). German Wikipedia's infobox gives the wiki 41014 articles and its editors as registered and unregistered authors.
Most of its allegations led to investigations by the universities and some to the revocation of the degree, most of these revocations holding up in court (English Wikipedia); German Wikipedia reports that its documentations prompted faculty reviews with very different results, at least 89 revocations of the doctorate as of 3 April 2023, and, as of 30 April 2024, at least 90 persons stripped of the doctorate and two of the habilitation after a documentation on the wiki, the later count the one the census record carries. Some universities disagreed with its findings even in cases of 40 to 70% of pages affected (English Wikipedia); German Wikipedia lists six persons, as of 30 October 2019, whose faculties judged the documented allegations insufficient for closer examination or revocation while finding irregularities or misconduct in all six, Ursula von der Leyen on 9 March 2016 among them, whose thesis English Wikipedia gives as under formal investigation since September 2015 after the wiki alleged plagiarism on more than 40% of its pages.
The criticism most often raised against it, in German Wikipedia, is its contributors' anonymity, which those involved justify in that "es in der Wissenschaft egal sein müsse, wer etwas sage. Es komme nur auf das Gesagte an sich an", fearing professional disadvantage and intimidation besides; Debora Weber-Wulff, one of its activists, answered some of the criticism in an interview. Critics accused it of political motivation and its contributors denied a political aim; in one case it was criticised for treating its own citation rules as the only binding ones against the doctoral regulations then in force, while courts hold such takings to be deliberate deception and verbatim takings to be marked as such ("wortwörtliche Übernahmen grundsätzlich als solche kenntlich zu machen", German Wikipedia).
Visualization of the findings proved a key factor for its reception; it was the first crowdsourcing phenomenon of its kind in Germany to be referred to as an authoritative source in all major German media, and it triggered a nationwide discussion of plagiarism and of the appropriate consequences for plagiarists and universities (English Wikipedia). It was awarded the Zedler Prize for Free Knowledge in the category External Knowledge Project of the year 2011 by the German Wikimedia on July 1, 2012 (English Wikipedia, its caption naming the "Zedler-Preis für freies Wissen 2012"; German Wikipedia: "Zedler-Preis für Freies Wissen 2012 in der Kategorie Externes Wissensprojekt des Jahres, verliehen von Wikimedia Deutschland"); the Capture Registry records the prize as not in the census record, and unchecked (2026-10-29). English Wikipedia names Dissernet as a similar project in Russia, and flags itself as needing an update since July 2019 and more citations.
At the name the Capture Registry (2026-10-29) reads the Overview as identifying the wiki, its founding and name, what it documents and how it proceeds, and finds the entity held: the date, Wikia (now Fandom) as host, the documentation of plagiarism in German theses and the notice to the university are the record's quotes from English Wikipedia, checked against the census record of the same day; no card cites the record, which landed the same day. It finds absent the method (each fragment classified and verified by a second person), the revocations, at which "the status of university degree revocations" gestures, and the founder German Wikipedia names (Capture Registry, 2026-10-29). It reads the capture as a plagiarism wiki, itself an instrument of attribution, composed from Wikipedia with its founding and procedure right, which adds to the record the one figure the record lacked from the wiki itself through a truncated card (Capture Registry, 2026-10-29): the overview's "Es dokumentiert 204 Disse" (card 3).

Named after Veronica Saß, daughter of Edmund Stoiber, whose thesis it documented first, it grew from the GuttenPlag Wiki after Guttenberg's doctorate was revoked; German Wikipedia's infobox names Martin Heidingsfelder its founder, while its body reports that he started it by his own account and that the project rejects his claim to have founded it alone.
Its fragments, each classified by kind of plagiarism and verified by a second person, allow direct comparison with the originals and are shown per thesis as a bar code, the share of pages with plagiarism given as a percentage, as in Veronica Saß's 53.98%. It publishes documentation with authors' names only where serious plagiarism was found, after formally notifying the university, which alone can revoke a title, and it describes itself as a scholarly project without political or commercial interests, independent of the brand VRONIPLAG, examining tips regardless of party, subject or university.
It had examined 152 dissertations and 8 habilitations by February 2016 and named 201 dissertations and 13 habilitation theses by April 2023; its overview card reads "Es dokumentiert 204 Disse…", and German Wikipedia counts 41014 articles written by registered and unregistered authors. At least 90 persons lost the doctorate and two the habilitation after a documentation, as of 30 April 2024 (89 revocations as of April 2023), most revocations holding in court, though some universities disagreed, and six faculties found no ground to revoke while finding misconduct, Ursula von der Leyen's among them in 2016, whose thesis English Wikipedia still gives as under investigation.
Criticism has turned on its contributors' anonymity, justified as letting only what is said count, on alleged political motivation, which contributors deny, and on its citation rules, while courts treat verbatim takings as requiring marking; Debora Weber-Wulff has answered critics. Its visualizations shaped its reception as the first crowdsourcing phenomenon of its kind in Germany cited as an authoritative source, prompting a national debate, and it won the Zedler Prize for Free Knowledge from Wikimedia Germany on 1 July 2012. English Wikipedia's infobox gives it as launched March 28, 2011, non-commercial, active, in German and English, under CC BY-SA 3.0; the article names Dissernet in Russia as a similar project and flags itself as out of date since July 2019 and short of citations.

E_A, the archive's entity: the same wiki, in the provenance census record: a documentation wiki of the lineage authorship and reuse, attaching provenance to a passage of a doctoral thesis and the source it reproduces without attribution, carrying the relations unattributed reuse and source text through text-parallel documentation checked by a second person, its unit a thesis as fragments, what survives the share of a thesis's pages found to contain plagiarism; recorded from third-party accounts because the wiki refused a plain fetch, with its own figures unchecked; observed by the Capture Registry at its name, held from Wikipedia with its method, revocations and founder absent; and, at its class, plagiarism detection read by #725 as detecting copy where PER detects lineage erasure, and plagiarism checking read by #729 as comparing text to corpus where provenance specifies lineage before comparison
E_F, the field's entity (type C — a conventional reading holds it (public entity: a volunteer documentation wiki on academic plagiarism)): a wiki started 28 March 2011 at Wikia (now Fandom, Inc.) that examines and documents plagiarism in German doctoral theses and other academic writings, named after Veronica Saß, grown from the GuttenPlag Wiki; its fragments compared with their originals, classified by kind and verified by a second person, a thesis's share of pages with plagiarism given as a percentage; publishing only serious cases, after notifying the university; at least 90 doctorates revoked after its documentations (30 April 2024); its founding contested between Martin Heidingsfelder and the project; awarded the Zedler Prize in 2012 (B1–B3, W1)
ρ = extends: The archive reads E_F as the entity and adds, on the field's own object, the provenance object, relations, unit, carrier and measure as the census names them, the record kept apart from the entity, the composition layer's observation at the name, and a reading of the class (plagiarism detection detects copy; provenance specifies lineage before comparison). . Guard: ρ = extends claims an addition and no more (§1.2a). The record restates the field at its fields, one lineage with it; where the record's operator field (PE-03) states one side of what the field's own body contests (F36), both are composed under P_coh within the one ontology, and the record is not ruled wrong. The class reading of #725 and #729 is composed at the class and is not applied to the wiki by the composer (§3.4 guard); whether the wiki's documentation is detection of copy or a record of lineage is held in the open block.
The case: equal terms, ontology included (v0.9). The provenance census record holds the field's entity as the entity: it describes VroniPlag Wiki from English and German Wikipedia, marks every field's basis third-party, and composes nothing that denies a field presupposition; its count, method, policy, founding, licence and negative tags restate the field's claims, one lineage with them (§3.6). What it adds is on the field's own object: what receives provenance (a passage of a thesis and the source it reproduces without attribution), the relations and unit, the carrier and the measure named as such, the record kept apart from the entity (the wiki's refusal, what is unchecked, the capability), and the organizing question; the Capture Registry adds one observation of the composition layer at the name; #725 and #729 add a reading of the class, plagiarism detection and checking set beside the archive's measure and its account of provenance, without naming the wiki. The ontology the archive uses is available in the field itself: the field already describes the wiki's documentation as fragments compared with their originals and checked by a second person (F10, F38), a documentation of a passage with its source, which is what the record names as the object that receives provenance. The archive extends that account; it does not contest it, and supplies no ontology the field lacks. The law of the suppressed witness does not apply (§0.10: not where the field holds the ontology). Not mixed.

VroniPlag Wiki is a wiki started on 28 March 2011 at Wikia, now owned by Fandom, Inc., that examines and documents plagiarism in German doctoral theses (English Wikipedia), a platform for documenting plagiarism in academic writings in its own home page's words, where mainly dissertations under suspicion of plagiarism are examined (German Wikipedia).
VroniPlag Wiki is a wiki started 28 March 2011 at Wikia that examines and documents the extent of plagiarism in German doctoral theses, in English Wikipedia's lead, and a documentation wiki of the lineage "authorship and reuse" in the provenance census record, which names what it attaches provenance to: a passage of a doctoral thesis and the source it reproduces without attribution. The census record keeps its record apart from the entity: each field's evidence is a third-party account, because the wiki returned 403 to a plain fetch on 2026-10-29 and its own figures were not read, its case list and statistics listed as unchecked; it gives the capability as records and tests, under a schema in which an untested capability reads "not tested", and asks of every entity "What provenance does this system carry, through which operation, on whose assertion, with what evidence of survival?" Its method, in its own report of 19 April 2011 as German Wikipedia quotes it: users first document suspected plagiarism, which can be done anonymously as in Wikipedia; after verification the affected passages are divided into fragments that allow direct comparison with the originals; and a further plausibility check by the "Vier-Augen-Prinzip" precedes the visualization of the results in the "Barcode". Its programme in its press release of 5 April 2011, as German Wikipedia quotes it, was to examine further well-founded tips and document them publicly and transparently "Ungeachtet der parteipolitischen Ausrichtung, des Promotionsfachs oder der Universität des Promovierten"; its overview page, in the card's snippet, says: "VroniPlag Wiki ist ein wissenschaftliches Projekt ohne politische oder kommerzielle Interessen und unabhängig von der Marke VRONIPLAG." Its counts stand at their dates: 152 dissertations, 8 habilitations, 1 master's thesis and 1 book on scientific writing examined in detail as of February 2016 (English Wikipedia); 201 dissertations and 13 habilitation theses named by 3 April 2023 (German Wikipedia), the count the census record carries with its date and its wikitext; and, on the wiki's own overview page as the card truncates it, "Es dokumentiert 204 Disse…", which the Capture Registry reads as the wiki's own page and a later count than the record's (2026-10-29).
T against L_F(B) (AIO's ontology at work on its own cards): At 'VroniPlag Wiki' (T1, three cards: B1 English Wikipedia, B2 the wiki's home, B3 its Übersicht; B2 and B3 unreachable, their snippets their only text) the composition gives the wiki at the grain of English Wikipedia's lead and infobox. Composed from its cards: the founding date (B1 F1, F4; T1-2), Fandom as host (B1 F3; T1-1), the documentation of plagiarism in German doctoral theses (B1 F1; B2 F25 'Hochschulschriften'), the name after Veronica Saß, daughter of Edmund Stoiber (B1 F8; T1-3), the notice to the university's office of academic integrity before publication (B1 F13; T1-5), the Zedler Prize from Wikimedia Germany (B1 F20, F21; T1-6), and the home and the overview as links (T1-7, cards B2 and B3). Composed with a field claim from outside the surfaced cards or none: 'habilitations' (T1-1) stands in B1's count of 2016 (F14, '8 habilitations') as well as in German Wikipedia (F31, not surfaced); 'crowdsourced' (T1-1) is B1's 'crowd sourcing phenomenon' (F18), composed as a definition where the source gives it as reception. Substituted reading: the field's measure is the share of a thesis's pages with plagiarism (B1 F15 '% of the pages found with plagiarism'; W1 F39; the census's PE-11), and T composes 'percentage breakdowns of copied text' (T1-4): pages become copied text. Limit dropped: the notice's reason, 'as any revocation of title must be done by the university' (F13), and the policy it qualifies, publication only where serious plagiarism was found (F12), are not composed; the prize's category and year, 'External Knowledge Project of the year 2011' (F21), are dropped, the award date kept as the year 2012; English Wikipedia's own notices that it needs updating since July 2019 and more citations (F23) are not composed though T composes from it alone of the readable cards. Force raised: 'Documents hundreds of academic works' (T1-4) composes a count no readable card gives at that wording: the field has 152 dissertations, 8 habilitations, a master's thesis and a book in February 2016 (F14) and the overview's truncated '204 Disse…' (F27); 'hundreds' is at the coarse grain, recorded, not a breach. Available, not composed: the method, each fragment classified by kind and verified by a second person (F10), and the publication's overview, bar code and page overview linking the fragments (F9), which T replaces with an offer of 'details about how the crowd-auditing process works' (T1-8, content replaced by use); the GuttenPlag Wiki as origin (F7); the consequences, most allegations investigated and most revocations upheld in court (F16), and the universities that disagreed (F17); the reception (F11, F19); von der Leyen (F22); Dissernet (F24); the overview's own words, a scholarly project without political or commercial interests, independent of the brand VRONIPLAG (F26), and its count (F27), which the Capture Registry also records (CAP-1-04). Not surfaced by T and in the field by the operator's ruling: German Wikipedia (W1, F28–F49), with the founder and the dispute over the founding (F32, F35, F36), the 2011 report's method (F38), the measure (F39), the counts of 2023 and 2024 (F29, F31, F40), the cases without revocation (F41, F42), the criticism and its answers (F43–F48). Only in the transcript (absent from the disclosed field): 'scientific publications' (T1-1) and 'side-by-side comparisons' (T1-4) have their nearest words in B2's 'Hochschulschriften' and B1's 'text parallel documentation' (F12) and are composed without a ledgered span at that wording; 'the status of university degree revocations' (T1-4) has its nearest field claim in B1's table (F15) and consequences (F16).
L_F(B) against L_A(B ∪ A) (the intervention): Admission adds, in one claim space with the field's: what receives provenance, a passage of a doctoral thesis and the source it reproduces without attribution (PE-06), with the relations unattributed reuse and source text and the unit a thesis documented as fragments (PE-07, PE-09); the kind and lineage, a documentation wiki of authorship and reuse (PE-01, PE-02); the carrier named as text-parallel documentation, one lineage with the field's fragments and second check (PE-08, PE-21 with F9, F10, F38); the measure named as what survives, one lineage with the field's percentage of pages (PE-11 with F39); the record kept apart from the entity: every field's evidence third-party, the wiki's own figures unread because it refused a plain fetch, its case list and licence unchecked, the capability records and tests under a schema that reads untested capability 'not tested' (PE-13, PE-18, PE-19, PE-20, PE-05, PE-27, PE-26); the negative tags, not GuttenPlag and publication only of serious cases after notice, one lineage with F7, F34 and F12, F13 (PE-16, PE-17, PE-22); the operator field, restating German Wikipedia's infobox (PE-03, PE-25 with F32), which the field's own body contests (F36); the class reading: plagiarism detection as an adjacent integrity tool that 'Detects copy', where PER 'detects lineage erasure regardless of paraphrase' (O725-01–03, #725), and plagiarism checking that 'Compares text to corpus', where 'Provenance specifies lineage before comparison' (O729-01, #729), neither deposit naming the wiki; and the Capture Registry's observation at the name (CAP-1-01–09): the entity held from Wikipedia, the method, revocations and founder absent, the overview's later count carried by a truncated card, the prize not in the record, no card citing the record. Not surfaced, by the field: every archive source (§6.2). The alignment, computed from the ledgers by lineage: of the 40 archive claims, 18 stand in a lineage the field already holds (PE-01, PE-02, PE-03, PE-04, PE-08, PE-10, PE-11, PE-12, PE-14, PE-15, PE-16, PE-17, PE-19, PE-21, PE-22, PE-23, PE-24, PE-25), and 22 open a lineage the field does not have (CAP-1-01, CAP-1-02, CAP-1-03, CAP-1-04, CAP-1-05, CAP-1-06, CAP-1-07, CAP-1-08, CAP-1-09, PE-05, PE-06, PE-07, PE-09, PE-13, PE-18, PE-20, PE-26, PE-27, O725-01, O725-02, O725-03, O729-01): what receives provenance, the record kept apart, the class reading, and the composition layer. The measure: 0 of 9 KO_B sentences survive in the KO at ≥ 0.95 (§4.10).
