Eclipse (eclipsearchive.org), the archive of small-press and experimental writing

Eclipse is an online archive of small-press and experimental writing at eclipsearchive.org, which names itself twice on its home page, Eclipse and ECLIPSE, and opens on two ways in, an index of authors and an index of titles. It holds 20th-century small-press writing and 21st-century born-digital publications, and its centre is digital facsimiles of radical small-press writing from the last quarter of the 20th century. Craig Dworkin is its Founding Editor and Danny Snelson its Editor; Dworkin, a poet, critic and Professor of English at the University of Utah, co-manages it with Snelson, assistant professor of English at UCLA, and Eclipse's site carries a page for Dworkin that lists him as Founding Senior Editor of Eclipse and opens on his scholarly books. The authorship census admits it as an aggregator, a resource that gathers many works and says what it holds, files it under avant-garde and experimental archives and under collective and distributed authorship, and stands it to the census as infrastructure, its evidence facsimile, catalogue and primary text.

Dworkin started Eclipse in 2002 to give readers and scholars access to avant-garde works that were no longer in print from their original publishers, and Eclipse later expanded to publish selected new works and born-digital publications in the spirit of those presses. The name is an homage to Douglas Messerli's Sun & Moon press, which keeps this Eclipse apart from the other uses of the word. It is active: the home page announces a new item without a date.

Each included text is held as high-resolution scans of every page, most from Dworkin's personal collection, which the encyclopedia gives in Dworkin's words as an attempt to "conserve ... the facture and material specificity of the book or printed document as an object." Eclipse is thus no publisher of record for the original presses, since it holds facsimiles of their publications, no rights holder by any statement in its saved pages, and no reading-copy edition, since it scans every page to conserve the printed object. Its holdings are small-press books, pamphlets, magazines and periodical runs, among them L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E, Roof, This, Hills, Tottel's, Joglars and Big Allis, predominantly from North American presses, with translations and with titles in their original languages such as Joaquín Pasos's Poemas de un joven que no sabe inglés. The newest item is the first issue of the fugitive Gnome Baker magazine, from October 1976, edited by Madeleine Burnside and Andrew W. Kelly, with work by Michael Davidson, Rita Myers and Michael Palmer.

The author index runs alphabetically from Emily Abendroth to Suzanne Zavrian, with a link to browse by title, and its unit is a title listed under its author or authors, with co-authors, editors and translators marked. A co-written title stands under each collaborator: LEGEND appears under Bruce Andrews with Charles Bernstein, Ray DiPalma, Steve McCaffery and Ron Silliman named in brackets, and again under DiPalma and under McCaffery with the others named, and eXcLa stands under both Andrews and Maggie O'Sullivan, each entry naming the other. Editors are credited in three notations: a bracket after the title, as L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E under Andrews and under Bernstein and Roof, Hills, Tottel's and This under theirs; a parenthesis after the name, as The Difficulties under Tom Beckett and Big Allis under both Jessica Grim and Melanie Neilson; and once a credit inside another entry, The Syntactic Revolution under Abraham Lincoln Gillespie, marked "[Ed. Richard Milazzo]". A magazine issue devoted to one author stands under that author and under its editor: Big Sky Number Three under Clark Coolidge, with Bill Berkson credited as editor, and under Berkson as the "Clark Coolidge issue". A translation stands under its translator as well as its author, so that Rosmarie Waldrop, marked "(trans.)", holds three titles that also stand under Helmut Heißenbüttel. The archive reads the index as distributed authorship held without collapse, every collaborator, editor and translator holding the title under an entry of their own so that no single attribution absorbs the others; the authorial function is distributed across the index, and Eclipse's own responsibility for selection and rights is unstated. Two saved entries run otherwise: the name Richard Milazzo occurs only inside Gillespie's entry, with no entry of its own, and Sandra and Ben Doller hold Sonneteers under one joint heading.

Names stand in the index as printed, initials included, as "P. Inman" and "T. R. Uthco", and the index lists All Saints under "Craig Dworkin" and L≠A≠N≠G≠U≠A≠G≠E under "Daniel Scott Snelson". Its saved pages state no policy on pseudonyms, heteronyms or collective names, so whether a printed name is a chosen name, a pen name or a group is not shown, and the facsimiles themselves are unread. The archive's distinction for that unanswered case is that a pseudonym changes the label attached to an authorial function, while a heteronym changes the organization of the authorial function itself.

The census asks of Eclipse which authors, co-authors, editors and translators a small-press title is held under, within its question of how authorship is made, named, distributed, attributed and sustained, and what is lost when those relations are collapsed. In the archive's account of heteronymy, the credits such an index records fall at its boundary: ordinary translation, where the translator's authorial function is not distinct from the translation role, and ordinary editing, where the editor's contribution is supportive, are typically not heteronymic, and not every case of distributed authorial substrate is heteronymic. The same account sets legal accountability against exhaustive authorial identity, holds that heteronymy keeps responsibility from being confused with sole origination where a civil name is the atomic unit of attribution, and holds that the heteronymic architecture makes a reduction to one name register as loss. What Eclipse answers is whether it holds a facsimile of a named small-press title and under which authors, editors and translators, and which titles a named author co-wrote or edited.

The account of its purpose, date and method is the encyclopedia's, since Eclipse's own pages state no purpose, selection, permissions or rights: its About page returned "The requested URL was not found on this server", and its licence and the number of titles it holds are not stated. Its holder is Eclipse and its editors, the scans mostly from Dworkin's collection, with no rights terms in the saved pages; access is a free public website with the two indexes, and the title index was left unread.

In the archive's restatement of Bourdieu's field of restricted production, small-press publication is the first step by which the avant-garde is consecrated, followed by academic uptake, curricular inclusion and canonical status, and the archive notes that this analysis presumes consecration eventually arrives. The archive places the facsimile in a generation-old turn that rehabilitates the manuscript as image, with Susan Howe's argument "that the archive's material particulars are the poem's body and not its packaging", works that solved for the human reader "how to publish the hand without dissolving it into type".

Its editors join it to neighbouring archives: Dworkin curates The UbuWeb Anthology of Conceptual Writing, Snelson is a senior editor of PennSound, and Jacket2 published an interview with Dworkin that the encyclopedia cites on Eclipse, while Jacket2 reissues Roof, which Eclipse lists under James Sherry.

The encyclopedia has no article on Eclipse: its title "Eclipse Archive" redirects to the section Eclipse of the article on Craig Dworkin, edited last on 1 November 2026, whose infobox gives eclipsearchive.org as his website. Its disambiguation page for Eclipse lists Eclipse Comics, an American comic book publisher, and Eclipse (software), a software development platform, among the uses of the name, and does not list Eclipse.

Four other entities answer to the name and stay distinct from Eclipse: the Eclipse Foundation's archives, which keep the Eclipse Project's archived builds and collect each archived project's downloads, source and website into a single TGZ file; the apparel brand Eclipse Archives, whose shop lists an "ECLIPSE X JJK DROP" and whose TikTok profile has 71.1K followers; the High Altitude Observatory's archive of research-quality images of solar eclipses back to 1869, presented on NASA's eclipse site; and two Eclipse Marketplace plugins for archive files in the Eclipse IDE, the Archive Utility and a Zip archive editor.

At the name, a new address, Google's AI Overview composed a disambiguation on 1 November 2026, and the Capture Registry's innocent reading is that, given a name shared by a software foundation, a clothing brand, a solar image archive and IDE plugins, the Overview lists the senses it finds and asks which one is meant. The Registry finds the poetry archive leading the list with one bullet and one card of eight, its two editors named at their grain without an institution and its newest item correct, and it reads "a digital poetry publisher and archive" as agreeing with the encyclopedia's account of the later expansion. Absent from that composition, in the Registry's findings, are the 2002 start and its purpose, the facsimile form, the name's homage and the author index that holds each collaborator and translator under a name of their own, the card's snippet showing only the navigation "Eclipse ECLIPSE Authors Titles".

Eclipse (eclipsearchive.org) is an online archive of facsimiles of small-press and experimental writing, started in 2002 by Craig Dworkin and edited with Danny Snelson, whose author index holds co-written, edited and translated titles under their collaborators, editors and translators, names as printed.

📚 What it holds

  • Facsimiles: scans of every page, most from Dworkin's collection, to conserve the printed object.3↘
Each included text is held as high-resolution scans of every page, most from Dworkin's personal collection, which the encyclopedia gives in Dworkin's words as an attempt to "conserve ... the facture and material specificity of the book or printed document as an object."§8 Eclipse is thus no publisher of record for the original presses, since it holds facsimiles of their publications, no rights holder by any statement in its saved pages, and no reading-copy edition, since it scans every page to conserve the printed object.§9 The author index runs alphabetically from Emily Abendroth to Suzanne Zavrian, with a link to browse by title, and its unit is a title listed under its author or authors, with co-authors, editors and translators marked.§12
  • Purpose: avant-garde works out of print from their presses; later new and born-digital works.1↘
Dworkin started Eclipse in 2002 to give readers and scholars access to avant-garde works that were no longer in print from their original publishers, and Eclipse later expanded to publish selected new works and born-digital publications in the spirit of those presses.§5
  • Holdings: L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E, Roof, This, Hills, Tottel's, Big Allis; translations; the newest, Gnome Baker no. 1 (1976).4↘
It holds 20th-century small-press writing and 21st-century born-digital publications, and its centre is digital facsimiles of radical small-press writing from the last quarter of the 20th century.§2 It is active: the home page announces a new item without a date.§7 Its holdings are small-press books, pamphlets, magazines and periodical runs, among them L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E, Roof, This, Hills, Tottel's, Joglars and Big Allis, predominantly from North American presses, with translations and with titles in their original languages such as Joaquín Pasos's Poemas de un joven que no sabe inglés.§10 The newest item is the first issue of the fugitive Gnome Baker magazine, from October 1976, edited by Madeleine Burnside and Andrew W. Kelly, with work by Michael Davidson, Rita Myers and Michael Palmer.§11
  • Name: an homage to Douglas Messerli's Sun & Moon press.1↘
The name is an homage to Douglas Messerli's Sun & Moon press, which keeps this Eclipse apart from the other uses of the word.§6

🗂️ The author index

  • Co-authors: LEGEND stands under Andrews, DiPalma, McCaffery and the others named; eXcLa under Andrews and O'Sullivan.2↘
The author index runs alphabetically from Emily Abendroth to Suzanne Zavrian, with a link to browse by title, and its unit is a title listed under its author or authors, with co-authors, editors and translators marked.§12 A co-written title stands under each collaborator: LEGEND appears under Bruce Andrews with Charles Bernstein, Ray DiPalma, Steve McCaffery and Ron Silliman named in brackets, and again under DiPalma and under McCaffery with the others named, and eXcLa stands under both Andrews and Maggie O'Sullivan, each entry naming the other.§13
  • Editors: '[Editor]', '(Editor)' or, once, '[Ed. Richard Milazzo]' inside another entry; Big Sky under Coolidge and Berkson.4↘
Richard Milazzo]".§14 A magazine issue devoted to one author stands under that author and under its editor: Big Sky Number Three under Clark Coolidge, with Bill Berkson credited as editor, and under Berkson as the "Clark Coolidge issue".§15 Two saved entries run otherwise: the name Richard Milazzo occurs only inside Gillespie's entry, with no entry of its own, and Sandra and Ben Doller hold Sonneteers under one joint heading.§18 Its editors join it to neighbouring archives: Dworkin curates The UbuWeb Anthology of Conceptual Writing, Snelson is a senior editor of PennSound, and Jacket2 published an interview with Dworkin that the encyclopedia cites on Eclipse, while Jacket2 reissues Roof, which Eclipse lists under James Sherry.§30
  • Translators: Rosmarie Waldrop '(trans.)' holds three Heißenbüttel titles.2↘
A co-written title stands under each collaborator: LEGEND appears under Bruce Andrews with Charles Bernstein, Ray DiPalma, Steve McCaffery and Ron Silliman named in brackets, and again under DiPalma and under McCaffery with the others named, and eXcLa stands under both Andrews and Maggie O'Sullivan, each entry naming the other.§13 A translation stands under its translator as well as its author, so that Rosmarie Waldrop, marked "(trans.)", holds three titles that also stand under Helmut Heißenbüttel.§16
  • Names: 'P. Inman', 'T. R. Uthco', one joint heading for 'Sandra and Ben Doller'; entries under 'Craig Dworkin' and 'Daniel Scott Snelson'.3↘
Two saved entries run otherwise: the name Richard Milazzo occurs only inside Gillespie's entry, with no entry of its own, and Sandra and Ben Doller hold Sonneteers under one joint heading.§18 Names stand in the index as printed, initials included, as "P. Inman" and "T. R. Uthco", and the index lists All Saints under "Craig Dworkin" and L≠A≠N≠G≠U≠A≠G≠E under "Daniel Scott Snelson".§19 Its saved pages state no policy on pseudonyms, heteronyms or collective names, so whether a printed name is a chosen name, a pen name or a group is not shown, and the facsimiles themselves are unread.§20

🔎 The archive's reading

  • Without collapse: each collaborator, editor and translator under an entry of their own, no single attribution absorbing the others; Milazzo and the Dollers run otherwise.4↘
Richard Milazzo]".§14 The archive reads the index as distributed authorship held without collapse, every collaborator, editor and translator holding the title under an entry of their own so that no single attribution absorbs the others; the authorial function is distributed across the index, and Eclipse's own responsibility for selection and rights is unstated.§17 Two saved entries run otherwise: the name Richard Milazzo occurs only inside Gillespie's entry, with no entry of its own, and Sandra and Ben Doller hold Sonneteers under one joint heading.§18 Names stand in the index as printed, initials included, as "P. Inman" and "T. R. Uthco", and the index lists All Saints under "Craig Dworkin" and L≠A≠N≠G≠U≠A≠G≠E under "Daniel Scott Snelson".§19
  • The boundary: ordinary editing and translation typically not heteronymic; a heteronym changes the organization of an authorial function, a pseudonym its label.3↘
The archive's distinction for that unanswered case is that a pseudonym changes the label attached to an authorial function, while a heteronym changes the organization of the authorial function itself.§21 In the archive's account of heteronymy, the credits such an index records fall at its boundary: ordinary translation, where the translator's authorial function is not distinct from the translation role, and ordinary editing, where the editor's contribution is supportive, are typically not heteronymic, and not every case of distributed authorial substrate is heteronymic.§23 The same account sets legal accountability against exhaustive authorial identity, holds that heteronymy keeps responsibility from being confused with sole origination where a civil name is the atomic unit of attribution, and holds that the heteronymic architecture makes a reduction to one name register as loss.§24
  • The class: small-press publication the first step of avant-garde consecration; the facsimile turn publishes the hand without dissolving it into type.2↘
In the archive's restatement of Bourdieu's field of restricted production, small-press publication is the first step by which the avant-garde is consecrated, followed by academic uptake, curricular inclusion and canonical status, and the archive notes that this analysis presumes consecration eventually arrives.§28 The archive places the facsimile in a generation-old turn that rehabilitates the manuscript as image, with Susan Howe's argument "that the archive's material particulars are the poem's body and not its packaging", works that solved for the human reader "how to publish the hand without dissolving it into type".§29

❔ Unstated on its pages

  • Its own terms: no purpose, selection, rights, licence or count; the About page 404; whether a name is chosen not shown.3↘
Its saved pages state no policy on pseudonyms, heteronyms or collective names, so whether a printed name is a chosen name, a pen name or a group is not shown, and the facsimiles themselves are unread.§20 The account of its purpose, date and method is the encyclopedia's, since Eclipse's own pages state no purpose, selection, permissions or rights: its About page returned "The requested URL was not found on this server", and its licence and the number of titles it holds are not stated.§26 Its holder is Eclipse and its editors, the scans mostly from Dworkin's collection, with no rights terms in the saved pages; access is a free public website with the two indexes, and the title index was left unread.§27

🔀 Other things called Eclipse

  • Encyclopedia: 'Eclipse Archive' redirects into the Dworkin article; the disambiguation omits the archive.2↘
The encyclopedia has no article on Eclipse: its title "Eclipse Archive" redirects to the section Eclipse of the article on Craig Dworkin, edited last on 1 November 2026, whose infobox gives eclipsearchive.org as his website.§31 Its disambiguation page for Eclipse lists Eclipse Comics, an American comic book publisher, and Eclipse (software), a software development platform, among the uses of the name, and does not list Eclipse.§32
  • Homonyms: Eclipse Foundation archives; an apparel brand; the HAO's solar images from 1869; IDE archive plugins.1↘
Four other entities answer to the name and stay distinct from Eclipse: the Eclipse Foundation's archives, which keep the Eclipse Project's archived builds and collect each archived project's downloads, source and website into a single TGZ file; the apparel brand Eclipse Archives, whose shop lists an "ECLIPSE X JJK DROP" and whose TikTok profile has 71.1K followers; the High Altitude Observatory's archive of research-quality images of solar eclipses back to 1869, presented on NASA's eclipse site; and two Eclipse Marketplace plugins for archive files in the Eclipse IDE, the Archive Utility and a Zip archive editor.§33

👁️ At the name

  • The Overview: one sense of five, editors at their grain; purpose, 2002, facsimiles and the author index not carried (Capture Registry).2↘
The Registry finds the poetry archive leading the list with one bullet and one card of eight, its two editors named at their grain without an institution and its newest item correct, and it reads "a digital poetry publisher and archive" as agreeing with the encyclopedia's account of the later expansion.§35 Absent from that composition, in the Registry's findings, are the 2002 start and its purpose, the facsimile form, the name's homage and the author index that holds each collaborator and translator under a name of their own, the card's snippet showing only the navigation "Eclipse ECLIPSE Authors Titles".§36

🔗 Neighbours

  • Editors' other archives: UbuWeb, PennSound, Jacket2.1↘
Its editors join it to neighbouring archives: Dworkin curates The UbuWeb Anthology of Conceptual Writing, Snelson is a senior editor of PennSound, and Jacket2 published an interview with Dworkin that the encyclopedia cites on Eclipse, while Jacket2 reissues Roof, which Eclipse lists under James Sherry.§30

Eclipse (the field alone)

Wikipedia gives Eclipse as an online archive of 20th-century small-press writing and 21st-century born-digital publications, focused on digital facsimiles of radical small-press writing from the last quarter of the 20th century, whose founding senior editor is Craig Dworkin. Its home page, eclipsearchive.org, carries the name Eclipse, links to authors and titles, and names Craig Dworkin as Founding Editor and Danny Snelson as Editor. Dworkin is Professor of English at the University of Utah and co-manages the archive with Snelson, assistant professor of English at UCLA.

Dworkin started the archive in 2002 to give access to avant-garde works no longer in print from their original publishers; it later expanded to publish new and born-digital works. Its name is an homage to Douglas Messerli's Sun & Moon press.

It includes high-resolution scans of every page of its texts, most from Dworkin's personal collection, to conserve the facture and material specificity of the printed object. The home page announces the first issue of the fugitive Gnome Baker magazine, October 1976, edited by Madeleine Burnside and Andrew W. Kelly.

The author index runs from Emily Abendroth to Suzanne Zavrian and lists co-written titles under each co-author, as with LEGEND and eXcLa. Editors are credited in brackets, in parentheses or inside another's entry, and a single-author issue of Big Sky stands under both author and editor. Rosmarie Waldrop is listed as translator of three Heißenbüttel titles, which also stand under Heißenbüttel. Names appear as printed, among them P. Inman, Sandra and Ben Doller and T. R. Uthco, with entries under Craig Dworkin and Daniel Scott Snelson and titles in other languages.

Dworkin's page on the site lists him as curator of The UbuWeb Anthology of Conceptual Writing. The About page returns a 404.

On Wikipedia, 'Eclipse Archive' redirects to the Eclipse section of the Craig Dworkin article, last edited 1 November 2026, which gives eclipsearchive.org as its website; the Eclipse disambiguation page does not list the archive. Other things share the name: Eclipse Foundation project archives, an Eclipse Archives apparel brand with a TikTok following, a solar eclipse image archive from 1869, and Eclipse IDE archive plugins.

E_A, the archive's entity: the same archive, in the leesharks.com apparatus authorship census record, the capture record and the deposits that bear on its kinds: an aggregator of authorship held as infrastructure (LS-38, LS-06), whose author index the archive reads as distributed authorship held without collapse (LS-26), with the names it holds as printed and their status unshown (LS-13, LS-27), its own terms of purpose, selection, rights and count unstated (LS-23, LS-25); its editors' and translators' credits at the boundary #940 draws for heteronymy, and the names it holds open to #940's distinction of pseudonym and heteronym (O940-04, O940-05); its holdings in the class whose consecration #163 describes and whose facsimile #1409 places (O163-01, O1409-01); at the name, one sense of five, its index and purpose uncomposed (CAP-1-02, CAP-1-11). E_F, the field's entity (type C — a conventional reading holds it (public entity: an online archive of facsimiles of small-press and experimental writing, with an author index and a title index; at the name, one sense of five, beside four other entities of the name)): Eclipse (eclipsearchive.org), named on its home page as Eclipse and ECLIPSE (F1), with an author index and a title index (F2, F16), Founding Editor Craig Dworkin and Editor Danny Snelson (F5, F13, F39); in the encyclopedia's account an online archive of 20th-century small-press writing and 21st-century born-digital publications, focused on digital facsimiles of radical small-press writing from the last quarter of the 20th century (F32, F33), started in 2002 for avant-garde works out of print and later publishing new and born-digital works (F34, F35), its name an homage to Sun & Moon (F36), its scans of every page most from Dworkin's collection (F37, F38); its index holding co-written, edited and translated titles under their collaborators, editors and translators in three notations (F17–F25, F29), names as printed (F27, F28); its About page 404 (F30); 'Eclipse Archive' a redirect into the article on Dworkin, the archive absent from the 'Eclipse' disambiguation (F31, F41–F43). Distinct from the other entities of the name on the rail (F6–F12).

ρ = extends: The archive reads Eclipse as the field presents it, an online archive of small-press facsimiles with an author index, and adds, on the field's own object: the reading of the index as distributed authorship held without collapse (LS-26), the census's question of credit and its admission as an aggregator (LS-08, LS-38), the limits of what its pages show (names, purpose, rights, count: LS-13, LS-23, LS-25, LS-27), the boundary #940 draws for editors and translators and its distinction of pseudonym and heteronym (O940-04, O940-05), the account of small-press consecration and of the facsimile turn (O163-01, O163-02, O1409-01, O1409-02), and the composition's absences at the name (CAP-1-07, CAP-1-08, CAP-1-11). It does not make the field's sources wrong at their dates. Where the archive's reading (LS-26) meets two saved entries that run otherwise (F24, F27), both are composed under P_coh within the one ontology.

The case: equal terms, ontology included (v0.9). The archive reads the field's entity as the entity. The census record describes Eclipse from its own pages and the encyclopedia, each field with its basis, and its reading (ls_reading) adds a sense on the same object: the author index as distributed authorship held without collapse. #940 bears on the classes the index belongs to, and #163 and #1409 on the class of its holdings. No archive source contests the field's ontology or supplies one the field lacks; ρ = extends, and the case is equal terms (§0.9, §1.2a).

L_A(B ∪ A)the field and the archive composed in the archive's ontology1538 words

Absent from that composition, in the Registry's findings, are the 2002 start and its purpose, the facsimile form, the name's homage and the author index that holds each collaborator and translator under a name of their own, the card's snippet showing only the navigation "Eclipse ECLIPSE Authors Titles".

current · derived from the current composition

T against L_F(B) (AIO's ontology at work on its own cards): At 'Eclipse Archive' (T1, eight cards; 187 words in the answer body with its closer, links reduced to their text, markers and the card rail excluded) the composition is a disambiguation of five senses (T1-1), the entity first (T1-2). Against L_F(B_D), the disclosed pool alone: of the entity's card (B1) T composes the name (F1), both editors at the card's grain (F5, 'founded by' for 'Founding Editor', coarser) and the newest item at coarser grain (F3, 'such as Gnome Baker magazine'). Available, not composed: the author and title indexes (F2, 'Authors Titles' on the card's own snippet), the issue's date (October 1976) and its editors and contributors (F4). Outside the cards: 'digital poetry publisher' and 'out-of-print and avant-garde writing' (T1-2) stand on no B_D source; they match the encyclopedia (F34, F35), which is in B_R and was not surfaced, so they show nothing of what the composition had (§0.3); recorded as content from undisclosed retrieval or the composer's parameters, which the experiment cannot tell apart. The four homonym bullets (T1-3–T1-6) compose their cards at the cards' grain (F6–F12), with 'streetwear' and 'anime-themed' from no card. Force raised: none beyond 'founded by'. Composed without attribution: none (the entity's bullet carries a marker to card 1). Substituted reading: none; the entity is composed under its own name beside four other entities kept distinct. Content replaced by use: the closer (T1-7), an offer of further help, no source. The Capture Registry's findings name the same absences (CAP-1-07, CAP-1-08, CAP-1-09, CAP-1-11), the date and purpose among them, and read 'publisher and archive' against the encyclopedia (CAP-1-06), a B_R source.

The first question of §0.3, what the layer makes of the sources it itself surfaces: the layer surfaced one card of the entity and seven of other entities of the name, and composed the entity's card partially (name, editors, one item) while leaving its navigation to the two indexes, which is the census's reason for holding Eclipse, uncomposed.

L_F(B) against L_A(B ∪ A) (the intervention): Admission adds, in one claim space with the field's: the census's admission of Eclipse as an aggregator and its question (LS-38, LS-37, LS-08), the archive's reading of the author index as distributed authorship held without collapse (LS-26, LS-15) with its own limit on names (LS-27, LS-13), the census's negatives (no publisher of record, no rights holder, no reading copy, the name's homage: LS-32, LS-33), what its pages leave unanswered (LS-19, LS-21, LS-23, LS-25, LS-29, LS-36), #940's boundary for editors and translators and its pseudonym/heteronym distinction (O940-01–O940-06), #163's account of small-press consecration and its limit (O163-01, O163-02), #1409's facsimile turn (O1409-01, O1409-02), and the Capture Registry's findings at the name (CAP-1-01–CAP-1-14). The field's own claims stand as received (untranslated). The archive's reading meets two documented entries that run otherwise (F24, F27), composed side by side (KO 17–18). Not surfaced: every archive claim and every B_R source (B9–B12) is absent from the disclosed field.
