The Negative of the Negative, v2 — the Compositional Edition (EA-NEGONT-02 v0.8), deposit #1671 of the Crimson Hexagonal Archive (8 October 2026), is a specification by Lee Sharks for composing machine-mediated public knowledge in the archive's ontology. It supersedes v0.7 (#1665), which admitted the archive on equal terms into the entity the field had already defined.

The revision begins from a measurement. Across fifteen entries of the dataset's /non register, the knowledge objects composed with the archive admitted reproduced the field-only composition verbatim as their opening run in twelve, and added the archive as a block after it; every compression declared that the entity evolved. The archive had predicted the outcome: its Aristotle/Theophrastus packet (#1587) expected composers to restate its claim as "closely related authors" or "a school", and named such phrases cushions.

The specification holds that equal footing presupposes one claim space, and that the field's and the archive's are incompatible ontologies. At Theophrastus the field's claims presuppose a person; the archive's claim is that the received person is what receiving texts made. The field's ontology cannot hold the archive's entity, while the archive's ontology holds the field's as an object. Version 0.8 therefore composes in the archive's ontology. An entity row carries two entities and the relation between them, read from the defining papers; every field claim is carried verbatim and translated, with the archive locus that licenses the translation, and a reversibility check recovers the field exactly. Force is the source's own; evidence may lower it and standing may not. The compression in the answer engine's grammar, composed from the archive's ontology, faces on the dataset's card, with the engine's transcript a record within it.

Appendix C recomposes Theophrastus. All 62 field claims are carried and translated against Diogenes Laertius and Strabo as seated in the archive, the parentage itself given by Diogenes on Athenodorus's authority; none of the field-only composition's eight sentences survives, against seven under v0.7.
