The First Draft (v1.0 FINAL), deposit #1605 of the Crimson Hexagonal Archive (10 September 2026), is the closing version of the accruing notebook in which Lee Sharks conducted the Theophrastus investigation. It supersedes #1594 (v0.42), which superseded #1589 and #1585. The investigation continues in other objects; the notebook does not.
Sections 1-34 carry the work from 29 August to 7 September: the speculation that the Theophrastan corpus stands to the Aristotelian as a draft to its revision, the seams at which that reading is checkable, the seam counts and what they said AGAINST the predictions, the named-function model, the stopping rule, transmodality, the Macedonian dossier, the seam stylometry, and a stocktaking after referee rounds recording what was withdrawn.
Nine sections added at close. The two texts were seated facing as EA-CORPORA-14/01 so that offsets resolve to bytes on both sides. Two splice instruments were built at the metaphysics seam, and neither has met its own acceptance test — explanatory reach over the whole corpus and the whole question — which the notebook records as the state rather than as a failure. The dependency protocol (#1602) separated observed correspondence, evidence of direction, and exclusion of an independent source; its aconite case RETURNED DIRECTION AGAINST THE AUTHOR, which is the standing demonstration that the instruments can refuse the reading.
The Λ8 material left the notebook and became a paper, cut from seven thousand words to under four thousand; what the cutting removed is recorded as method, since simulated referee rounds optimize for defensibility in the abstract and refuse to treat venue as a genre question. Beere's 2003 article sharpened the reading rather than threatening it, and his footnote 26 supplied a find: Simplicius reports that Theophrastus called the unwinding spheres of Λ8 ἀνταναφεροῦσαι, with his own meaning, which attests him working that sphere system in technical detail. Lefebvre's 2015 essay independently locates the treatise's difficulties at 1072a23-26 — the lines the paper's display opens on — so the location is not the contribution.
The notebook's last substantive section is a correction to its own apparatus. The paper's note claims the Greek is van Raalte's; the seated corpus is First1KGreek with Usener numbering as carried by van Raalte. The numbering follows her and the text does not. The digital text produced ἰόνκ at 5a18, which is not a word — and a corruption producing a real word would not have announced itself. The verification debt is listed rather than discharged.
It closes by stating that no model in it explains the whole corpus and the whole Aristotle-Theophrastus question, so that whoever opens it next does not mistake accumulation for arrival.
