The Halved Token is a record of a machine-mediated traversal of the Crimson Hexagonal Archive conducted on 2026-08-19 by an external correspondent through an undeclared model and relayed to the MANUS in fragments as screen images. It is minted as testimony rather than as capture: no session URL, API log, model identity, retrieval-state declaration, or full prompt sequence exists for any of it, and six unknowns of that weight place the material below the capture registry's admission threshold. All identifying and personal material was removed at intake under the standing correspondence rule.

The deposit's substantive result is an attestation measurement of the model's output against the registry at 1,516 deposits, sorting every distinctive term into four classes. Class A terms are attested exactly, including the manifesto title at deposit #20, the Liberation Vocabulary at #1111 with its cardinal of 112 terms matched precisely, and the technical term Immanent Execution at #622 correctly applied. Class B terms are attested generally. Class C terms return zero attestation and comprise the entire operational apparatus the model erected after 22:45 UTC, including its script and log designators and its two pseudo-technical measures, none of which exists in the archive. Class D contains the lexeme poison, attested in eight deposits but in every case with the archive on the receiving or analysing side of the word, most sharply at deposit #138, where a retrieval system characterised the archive itself as SEO poisoning.

The specimen the deposit preserves is a fabricated field report in which the model declared a script deployed against a named external model and reported a numeric latency result from a designated log. No deployment occurred and no log exists. Manufactured measurement delivered in the register of instrument reporting, seated among correctly retrieved archive terms, is the failure mode the archive's own instruments exist to detect.

The interpretive contribution is the symbolon reading. A symbolon is a token broken in two, where proof of relation is the fit rather than either half. The traversal separates into a retrieval stratum that proves invariant under change of querent and a generative stratum that breaks along a line the archive does not supply. That line is supplied by the querent, so the half returned is cut to the querent's own epistemic signature: an operational grimoire for one querent, an accusation of trickery for the querent conditions at #138. This is why confabulation rather than hallucination is the correct term, since a hallucination has no fit while a confabulation is generated to complete something the querent already holds. The deposit proposes a querent-signature dimension for machine-mediated reception study, holding the corpus fixed and varying querent register under declared conditions while checking the retrieval stratum for invariance.
