From Findability to Traversability (v0.1 developmental draft) is a machine-mediated reception study by Lee Sharks, dated 12 August 2026, documenting three unprimed general traversals of the public Lee Sharks / Crimson Hexagonal information environment through Grok, ChatGPT in an incognito logged-out session, and Perplexity. All three transcripts are reproduced in full as documentary exhibits with a SHA-256 per payload.
No archive map, SPXI packet, curated bibliography, retrieval prompt or primer was supplied. Each session began from an ordinary public entry condition: an X account, a person query followed by a TikTok discovery cue, and an exact-name web search. The study's earlier instruments — traversal logs, the longitudinal capture registries, and AI-Native Intellectual Biography (May 2026) — established that composition systems could reconstruct the archive under guided or corpus-rich conditions. This battery asks the narrower question: whether a general user, entering without the archive's internal vocabulary, is carried from a surface referent into the architecture.
The finding is a transition from findability to traversability. Once the retrieval basin is acquired, all three systems recover relations rather than isolated names: Sharks, the archive, heteronymy, machine-readable metadata, AI-mediated reception, the Space Ark. Convergence is strongest at semantic topology and weakest at temporal state, source authority and first-pass entity ranking — the basin is more semantically synchronised than temporally synchronised.
Three system-specific results. Grok enters through a social surface and reconstructs a project grammar. ChatGPT moves from identity resolution into the archive, The Secret Book of Walt and Jack Feist, then spontaneously recognises its own retrieval event as structurally homologous to the transmission mechanism described in the text it is retrieving. Perplexity fails the exact-name query almost completely and then acquires the entity after one corrective prompt, establishing a distinction between retrieval availability and retrieval priority.
Section 11 states the limits: three transcripts establish no reproducibility across day, account state, geography or model revision, and later Grok turns that organise user-supplied propositions are not treated as independent retrieval evidence.
