EA-SPXI-HETERONYM-01 is a protocol specification, 9 August 2026, for rendering a named position as a dual surface: a static machine object and a rendered human page, on the pattern the Crimson Hexagonal Archive already uses for deposit records.
Its central discipline is that it adds no ontology. The Secret Name supplies the Armature type system and the eleven Required Elements of a Named Position; the Haitch Portuna Minting Procedure supplies the five-state progression from RESERVED to PEARL with boolean acceptance predicates at each transition. The specification governs only the surface, and inherits the rest.
The null rule is stated as an invariant: a block resolving to nothing is omitted, never filled, never stubbed. Two corollaries were derived from a mockup that failed them — material flagged as invented must be excluded from the DOM entirely rather than rendered as fact, and every count must be computed from its array rather than authored.
The sameAs boundary is the specification's sharpest rule, and it resolves a genuine disagreement between six external readings. Two proposed linking the heteronym to the orthonym's ORCID by sameAs. Because sameAs asserts identity, that instruction would collapse the heteronym into the orthonym in the vocabulary machines trust most — precisely the flattening the Armature exists to prevent. The specification permits sameAs only to surfaces the named position itself occupies, and routes legal accountability through accountablePerson.
A further rule governs absence with a person behind it: where a position has no portrait because none exists, the surface marks the absence rather than substituting a generated face.
