AXN 0C3F is the content-derived identifier of Alexanarch deposit #1748. It is an identifier, not a copy of the work: the hex marks position in the archive, and the six-glyph suffix is a display hash of the canonical text’s SHA-256, so the identifier is derived from the work rather than assigned to it.

The work

EA-CORPORA-36 is the thirty-sixth seating of the Crimson Hexagonal Archive's originals shelf, deposited under Rebekah Cranes, the standing authority on the EA-CORPORA deposits, on 7 November 2026. It seats the reception of Sappho and the history of the future reader as public texts in their original languages, for the revision of Closing the Fragment and the Sappho Future Reader framework, whose groundwork is Research Notes Towards the Future Reader (#1548). Part A holds twenty-three seats: the translators, editors and critics of Sappho from John Hall's English Longinus (1652) and Boileau's Traité du sublime through the Spectator, Pope, Fawkes, Welcker, Merivale, Mure, Swinburne, Higginson, Symonds, Renée Vivien, Bliss Carman, Wharton, O'Hara, Stacpoole, Wilamowitz and David M. Robinson to Edwin Marion Cox (1925); the remembrance fragments in the books that carry them (Dio Chrysostom with fr. 147, Plutarch with fr. 55, Stobaeus, the Oxyrhynchus Papyri XV); the Greek Anthology's epigrams on Sappho; Smyth and Jebb; and the Wikipedia sentence on Sappho writing for future readers, pinned at one revision. Part B holds nine seats of future-reader texts the library lacked, from Ennius in Cicero, Dante, Chaucer, Shakespeare's sonnets and Milton through Wordsworth, Keats, Shelley, Stendhal, Dickinson and Baratynsky to the Sandia report on markers for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (1993). Part C cross-references thirty-six loci in texts the library already held, Homer, Herodotus, Thucydides, the Phaedrus, Horace, Ovid, the Hebrew Bible, Nietzsche and Whitman among them. Part D holds open scholarship in copyright by reference, each work fetched and hashed with its loci verified: D'Angour, Finglass, Garner and three Bryn Mawr reviews, with pointers to Lardinois 2008 and the Center for Hellenic Studies editions. Part E declares seventy-three works behind rights-, pay- and access-walls. Each seat is hashed into its manifest, and eighty-nine loci are verified in the text layers. Version 1.1 (7 November 2026) adds Part F, eight seats for the reception study of how Sappho became a jealous woman: Gottfried Hermann's Elementa doctrinae metricae (1816), which states the jealousy reading as the sense of the poem's last line, answered the same year by Welcker; Plutarch's Demetrius and Amatorius; the Erasistratus story in Valerius Maximus and Appian; Gellius with Valerius Aedituus; Maximus of Tyre; Racine's Phèdre; Smollett's Roderick Random; and Wikipedia's 'Sappho 31', with Lucretius's division of the poem's symptoms and the other ancient witnesses entered by reference.
