AXN 0BE7 is the content-derived identifier of Alexanarch deposit #1733. It is an identifier, not a copy of the work: the hex marks position in the archive, and the six-glyph suffix is a display hash of the canonical text’s SHA-256, so the identifier is derived from the work rather than assigned to it.

The work

Legitimately Many (EA-LEGITIMATELY-MANY-01, version 1.0) is a reception-history study by Lee Sharks, deposited in the Crimson Hexagonal Archive on 3 November 2026, of how the corpus received under the names Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and Theophrastus came to be read as the work of four persons. It reads the closing in the media that carried the texts, from the Delphic decree, the philosophers' wills and the catalogues in Diogenes Laertius to Simplicius's commentary on the Categories, the Aldine Aristotle of 1497, the nineteenth-century editions of Brandis, Bekker and Wimmer, Hegel's lectures and two compositions by Google's AI Overview. The study keeps apart its governing hypothesis (one maker whose positions are legitimately many, each with an organizing operation, a mode of presentation, an object and exposure to refutation with consequence), the documented operations, which stand whatever the authorship, and a proposed explanation of their persistence. Its central case is Theophrastus's Metaphysics, whose ascription enters with Nicolaus of Damascus against the catalogues' silence and travels in a scholion the editions first print and later drop, until numbering and headings carry the separation. A table of 112 loci, each located in its seated text, is coded for the object counted, the position taken and the warrant offered; it finds the received count of composing persons affirmed as a proposition only in the machine compositions, on the warrant of the wills. An excursus places heteronymic corpora, among them Kierkegaard, Pessoa and the author's Dodecad, as a later discussion. The deposit carries an SPXI packet stating its hypothesis, operators, disambiguations and falsifiers for machine readers.
