PEO Case 001 — T0 Enumeration of the Firenze crui.unifi Corpus

v1.0 · 2026-07-22 · Lee Sharks (Rex Fraction / Nobel Glas) · CC BY 4.0

Recovery map for the 14,284 unique DataCite DOIs formerly registered under client crui.unifi (Università degli Studi di Firenze; Firenze University Press) and abandoned by the registration-agency migration event of 2026-07-16T07:23:35Z.

The Platform Erosion Observatory tier-1 census detected the client-count collapse (14,283 → 0) between 2026-07-13 and 2026-07-20. This dataset resolves that figure to identifiers by streaming the DataCite Public Data File 2025 — a t0 snapshot frozen at 2026-01-06T20:11:59Z, approximately six months prior to the deletion — and filtering on client_id=crui.unifi. Every DOI in this enumeration currently dead-ends at https://journals.fupress.net/inactive-doi/.

Data quality notes

Two DOIs in the corpus (10.13128/10.13128/ahs-23289, 10.13128/10.13128/rea-25108) embed the 10.13128 prefix a second time inside the suffix. They resolve as valid DataCite identifiers in the T0 snapshot and are preserved unaltered in the enumeration.

Reconciliation with tier-1 census

The tier-1 census (2026-07-13) counted 14,283 findable DOIs under this client — one below this enumeration's findable count of 14,282, consistent with a single state transition in the six-month interval between the T0 snapshot and the tier-1 census. The +2 relative to tier-1 comes from the two registered-state DOIs, which DataCite's client-count APIs generally do not surface.
