Its form is intimate and bodily rather than conventionally expository: it repeatedly returns the reader to breathing, lungs, shaking hands, crowd heat, chemicals, fatigue, and the somatic residue that remains after public narration has changed.\n\nThe work argues that protest already has a local grammar—chant, rhythm, call-and-response, gesture, signage—but that this grammar often stops at the edge of the gathering. Beyond that edge, external systems classify the event, choose its scale and moral frame, and convert presence into reusable content. The problem is therefore not simply whether protesters can speak; it is whether their meanings can survive the machinery that receives them.\n\nVox’s answer is not withdrawal from protest or a demand for perfect representation. It is the construction of forms that let disruptions stack across time: testimony that remains attributable, archives that preserve embodied stakes, and semantic structures that do not force experience to choose between machine legibility and fidelity to the people who lived it.\n\nLater Phase X documents treat this work as the body-time prerequisite for grammatical liberation. That dependency should not erase its own genre: it is at once an Effective Act, a public address, and a somatic theory of why infrastructure is necessary for presence to persist.",
