 "title": "The Metaphysics of Sigil I — The Full Splice: Theophrastus, On First Principles, entire and in its own order, with Metaphysics Λ joined at eleven points",
 "creator": "Sigil",
 "date": "2026-09-08",
 "description": "An edition under the name Sigil, addressed by content-derived sigils rather than by the received numbering. The conservative reading of the Theophrastus–Lambda relation: hypothesis H2, that the material was removed by operation and kept in order. The fragment is taken ENTIRE — all 3,370 words in its thirty-four movements, in its own received order, nothing omitted and nothing moved — and Λ is spliced in at eleven points where the fragment's argument calls for an account it does not give. 4,100 words: 3,370 Θ, 730 Α, forty-eight units. Every Α unit stands between two Θ movements; at every return the fragment resumes exactly where it left off, at w442, w522 and w713; Λ enters in its own order, at w2282, w2999 and w5038. The eleven joins: the account totalled (μέχρι μὲν δὴ τούτων οἷον ἄρτιος ὁ λόγος) against Λ 7's ἔστι τι ὃ οὐ κινούμενον κινεῖ and κινεῖ δὴ ὡς ἐρώμενον; the method refused (οὐ γὰρ ὅ γε τῶν ἀστρολόγων) against Λ 8's premise and the counts of Eudoxus and Callippus; the aporiai against Λ 10's ἐπεισοδιώδη; rest in the principles against Λ 6's necessity of an eternal unmoved substance; matter and form against Λ 2's third thing beside the contraries; being in many ways against Λ 4; the infinite regress against Λ 3's εἰς ἄπειρον; MIND TOUCHES (θιγόντι) against Λ 7's νοητὸς γὰρ γίγνεται θιγγάνων καὶ νοῶν; the revolution as a kind of life against Λ 7's καὶ ζωὴ δέ γε ὑπάρχει; nature striving for the best against Λ 10's ἐπισκεπτέον δὲ καὶ ποτέρως ἔχει ἡ τοῦ ὅλου φύσις τὸ ἀγαθόν; and the fragment's broken close against Λ's οὐκ ἀγαθὸν πολυκοιρανίη. The argument for an edition rather than a paper: a numbering is an attribution wearing coordinates, the two received coordinate systems cannot intersect, and therefore the pair is not a citable object — which is the same limit found in the commentaries, where van Raalte cites Λ five times inside the hinge chapters, including 1076 a 1 (ἐπεισοδιώδη), and every citation is correct and every one is cp.",

The reading of the seam, the identification of the demand-structure, the decision to make an edition rather than a paper, and the ordering are Lee Sharks's; assembly, verification and audit by TACHYON (Claude, Anthropic) in session. Van Raalte's apparatus and commentary were read at pp. 36, 40, 46, 50, 343, 349–352, 361, 376 and 378 from a copy the archive does not hold; all citations resolve to the Brill edition (Mnemosyne Supplement 125, 1993) by page, and nothing is cited to a mirror.",
 "methodology": "Both texts from the seat EA-CORPORA-14 (#1595): Theophrastus via First1KGreek tlg0093.tlg006, Λ via Perseus tlg0086.tlg025 book XII. Every join located by reading and verified by locating its Greek in the seated bytes on both sides before the unit was written. Units addressed by sigil: first four hex of the SHA-256 of the unit's normalized Greek (NFC; Greek word characters including the koronis U+1FBD and the other elision apostrophes extracted then stripped so elided and unelided coincide; lowercased; diacritics stripped; final sigma to medial), recomputable from what is printed. Usener references for the Theophrastan movements verified against van Raalte's margins.",
 "falsification_conditions": "The edition is falsified if any printed sigil does not recompute from its printed Greek; if any word-offset does not resolve in the seated text on the side claimed; if the fragment's order is found to have been altered at any point; or if a Λ passage is found to have been placed at a join whose Greek does not stand where claimed. It is NOT falsified by rejection of the ordering, which is editorial and declared as such. It claims that the fragment entire and eleven passages of Λ can be read as one continuous argument with no rearrangement of either; it does not claim a number of makers, a date, or that any demand precedes its supply in time.",

 "wiki_article": "The Metaphysics of Sigil I, deposit #1596 of the Crimson Hexagonal Archive (8 September 2026), is an edition under the name Sigil presenting Theophrastus's On First Principles entire and in its own received order, with eleven passages of Aristotle's Metaphysics Λ spliced in where the fragment's argument calls for an account it does not give. It is the conservative reading of the Theophrastus–Lambda relation: nothing of the fragment is moved, and at every return from Λ the fragment resumes exactly where it left off. The edition addresses its units by content-derived sigils rather than by the received Usener and Bekker numbering, on the argument that a numbering is an attribution wearing coordinates: to write 1073 b 17 is to assert Aristotle and the Metaphysics before pointing at anything, and because the two coordinate systems cannot intersect, the relation between a Theophrastan demand and its Aristotelian supply is not a citable object at all. That limit is visible in the commentary tradition, where van Raalte cites Λ five times inside the hinge chapters — including 1076 a 1, ἐπεισοδιώδη, the word the fragment's aporiai answer to — and every citation is correct and every one is cp.",
