When #1431 was minted on 1 August from a stale ratchet, the chain divided — one branch running through this deposit, another running directly to #1431 — and the division stood until the braid deposit at #1433 cited this tether as the recovered strand while conditioning on the other. That episode is why the chain now carries a braid: a single-successor field cannot express a fork, so the repair had to be a later deposit rather than a correction in place.",
