## Twelve Pre-Registered Clauses for Sappho 31 Reception, Derived Without Revelation

### 0. Purpose and integrity disclosure

This deposit freezes the reception operator of Sappho 31 as a set of testable clauses derived from witnesses that do not include Revelation, and seals Revelation 12 as the named target of a subsequent test. The criterion is stated in advance: at independently specified stations, the distance from Revelation 12 to the Sapphic apparatus must be smaller than the distance from Revelation's demonstrable biblical sources to that apparatus — d(R12, S31) < d(B, S31) — with B declared below. A station where Revelation contradicts its source in the apparatus's direction weighs double.

Disclosure: before this freeze existed, a preliminary unblinded pass over Revelation 12 was made in working session (2026-08-19, morning), following an Assembly exchange that proposed the control-frame. Observations from that pass — among them the πυρρός facing dragon, the feeding in the wilderness, the torment written against Isaiah 66:7, the doubled σημεῖον ὤφθη frame, the agentless-passive cluster, and the death-station displaced to Revelation 12:11 — are hereby marked CONTAMINATED for pre-registration purposes: they may not be counted as blind confirmations. The sealed test rests on the quantified station-by-station collation to be performed after this record exists, on the full Greek of Revelation 12 against the declared B-set, clause by clause, with negative results reported.

### 1. The witness base (Revelation excluded)

Fragment 31 (Voigt). Catullus 51, verified against the transmitted Latin: ille … qui sedens adversus identidem te spectat et audit; misero quod omnis eripit sensus mihi; nam simul te, Lesbia, adspexi, nihil est super mi <lacuna>; lingua sed torpet, tenuis sub artus flamma demanat, sonitu suopte tintinant aures, gemina teguntur lumina nocte. καί μευ χρὼς μὲν ὁμοῖος ἐγίνετο πολλάκι θάψῳ, ἔρρευν δ᾿ ἐκ κεφαλᾶς πᾶσαι τρίχες, αὐτὰ δὲ λοιπὰ ὀστί᾿ ἔτ᾿ ἦς καὶ δέρμα — with the incantation-women sought and failing. Philo of Alexandria per the blind-reconstruction program (#1486): Mut. 54–57; Migr. 47–48; Quis Heres 249–266; Spec. 1.106; Det. 79. LXX Esther Addition D (Rahlfs Est 5:1a–2b), verified. Canonical Josephus per The Queen's Seizure and the Re-fired King (#1493): AJ 11.234–241; BJ 1.436–444; AJ 6.337–338; the six-occurrence ἀναζωπυρέω census with LXX Gen 45:27 as the verb's entry. Peri Hypsous per the erratum sequence (#1476, #1478).

### 2. The twelve clauses

C1 · SIGHT-FRAME INVARIANCE. Every carrier opens the event under a verb of seeing/appearing bound to the facing figure, and the correlative instantaneity syntax survives translation and genre: ὠς … ὤς (fr. 31), simul … adspexi (Catullus), the triple χὡς ἴδον, ὡς ἐμάνην, ὥς (Theocritus), ὡς γὰρ εἶδόν σε … εὐθύς (Josephus). Prediction: any true carrier preserves a seeing-verb frame and an instantaneity marker at the trigger.

C2 · CHANNEL-CONSERVATION ACROSS THE DYAD. Channel-function lost by the seized member
is exercised by the facing member: he ὑπακούει (fr. 31); sedens adversus spectat et
audit (Catullus); the fire appears on HIS face (πεπυρωμένον, D; διακεκαυμένῳ, Josephus).
Fire is the marked case: at the encounter it manifests in or on the facing body.
Prediction: in a new carrier, locate the fire in the facing member; locate exercised
seeing/hearing there also.

C3 · VOICE AND DEATH LOAD-BEARING, POLARITY-FLIPPABLE. The two stations never simply vanish. They invert — muzzle to flood (BJ 1), near-death of the gazer to denied death of the gazed-at (BJ 1), death displaced onto an adjacent chorus — or they persist as material trace: Catullus's voice-station survives as the transmitted lacuna itself. Prediction: absence of both stations in recognizable or inverted form disqualifies a candidate.

C4 · SHEDDING IS CARRIER-DIAGNOSTIC. Three attested profiles. Lyric-imitative (Catullus): keeps tongue, fire, ears, eyes; swaps the eye/ear order; sheds sweat, tremor, color, death; prefixes a thesis-summary (omnis eripit sensus). Bucolic-narrative (Theocritus): keeps sight, jolt-as-madness, color, tremor-as-disease, death-as-wasting; sheds voice, tongue, ears, sweat; extends duration; adds hair-loss and amnesia. Judaic-prose (D/Josephus): keeps sight, fire, jolt, voice, collapse, death; sheds ears and sweat; renders color biphasic. Prediction: a candidate's keep/drop profile classifies its carrier channel, and ears+sweat are the first casualties outside lyric.

C5 · THE COLOR-STATION NAMES A SURFACE. Color renders as material comparanda — grass (fr. 31), the dye-plant θάψος (Theocritus), χρῶμα-change (D) — the body approaching a stained or inscribable surface, per the erratum sequence's reading of χλωροτέρα. Prediction: where color appears, expect a substance or surface, not a bare hue.

C6 · OCCLUSION IS THE GATE. The seizure is the condition of reception, not its failure: Esther's collapse wins the audience; Philo derives doctrine from the occlusion; and in the failed-gate variant the occluded one seizes the apparatus herself (Simaetha takes the wheel — the poem as her operation). Prediction: in any carrier, the seizure purchases something.

C7 · REACTIVATION-BY-ANOTHER, OBLIGATORY IN NARRATIVE. Attested forms: feeding (Endor); embrace plus instrument plus speech-command (Esther: the scepter on the neck, λάλησόν μοι); spirit-changed-from-above (D); attempted-and-failed by incantatrices driving operator-seizure (Theocritus). The reactivation lexeme tends to fire-vocabulary: ἀναζωπυρέω, six occurrences in canonical Josephus, five at reactivation-of-occluded-life joints, entering from LXX Gen 45:27. Prediction: narrative carriers must show the other acting on the seized body, feeding and fire-words being the marked forms.

C8 · AGENTLESS GRAMMAR AT THE JOINTS. The terminus and the transfers ride agentless or divine-passive forms: τόλματον (fr. 31); μετέβαλεν ὁ θεός as displaced agent (D). Prediction: expect clustering of agentless passives precisely at transfer points.

C9 · SIMULTANEITY TO ALTERNATION. Lyric holds all channels failing at once; prose serializes under an εὐθύς-compression; doctrine legislates it (Philo's law of non-cohabitation, Quis Heres 249–266). Prediction: prose carriers show ordered series with instantaneity markers; doctrinal carriers state the alternation as law.

C10 · SECOND-ORDER INTENSIFICATION. Downstream witnesses may move toward the poem against their proximate source: Josephus restores the explicit voice-term and the ὡς…εὐθύς correlative beyond Addition D (#1493 §5). Prediction: wherever a redactional chain is visible, test for movement toward the apparatus, not merely presence.

C11 · CYCLE-FORMATION. Narrative carriers iterate the terminal pair — collapse, revival, speech-attempt, relapse — and fill the tolmaton-slot with a sovereign grant (half the kingdom). Prediction: expect the loop, and expect the grant.

C12 · THESIS-COMPRESSION. Carriers may prefix or append a formula naming the whole catalogue as one operation: omnis eripit sensus (Catullus); the state-noun surviving the jolt-lexeme (Philo). Prediction: expect a sign-formula that totalizes the event.

### 3. The sealed test

Target: Revelation 12, whole, in Greek. Declared B-set: Genesis 37:9–11 (celestial trio); Micah 4:9–10 with Isaiah 26:17 and 66:7–9 (Zion in travail, flight, rescue); Psalm 2:9 (the rod); Daniel 7 (heads and horns of the adversary). Criterion: d(R12, S31) < d(B, S31) at stations C1, C2, C3, C4-profile, C5, C6, C7, C8, C12, each scored for presence, source-coverage, and direction; contradiction of B toward the apparatus weighs double. Contaminated observations (§0) may orient but not score. Negative stations will be reported. The test's output, whatever it shows, will be deposited.

### 4. Position in the program

This freeze extends the blind-reconstruction program (#1486) from substrate-blindness to target-blindness: there the relation was specified as executable and tested on independent substrates; here the operator is specified in advance of its most radical candidate. The prior locations of Sappho in the Slavonic Josephus and in Revelation are not evidence for this test and are not used; the uncontested-corpus results (#1493) stand beneath it as the transmission prior. The woman clothed with the sun is, until the test runs, exactly what the text calls her: a great sign, seen.
