Cook, electronic transcriptions with morphological tagging (1995-2015), prepared for the Brill Dead Sea Scrolls Concordances; readings primarily follow DJD (Oxford: Clarendon, 1955-) with editors' own reconstructions where editions do not supply them; converted to Text-Fabric by J. "chain_note": "Ancient texts public domain. Transcription/reconstruction layer created by Abegg, Bowley and Cook and provided by Abegg personally to CACCHT (documented in repo about.md and in the .tf headers); the license is therefore declared by the parties holding the transcription rights - the structural opposite of a third-party relicensing defect. Caveat recorded honestly: Qimron v. Shanks (Israel) held a scholar's scroll reconstruction copyrightable to the reconstructor; readings herein that follow Qimron's published editions rest on the ground that following an edition's readings is not copying its protected expression. The principal reconstructors are the grantors here.",
"provenance_event": "The corpus enters the archive through the hand that liberated it: Abegg's 1991 reconstruction of the scrolls from the Brill concordance broke a forty-year publication monopoly. @source=Martin Abegg's data files, personal communication."
